My dear students!
since I was a child, I have been so fascinated by fireworks: they are such a magic to me. I remember when I was 5 years old and I was so scared by them, but at the same time so intrigued by the colours and the sparkling in the sky and then reflected on the sea water. I remember it was summer, with my mother and my grandmother in front of the Adriatic sea in Caorle. Such sweet memories.
And you? Do you like fireworks? Have you ever been at a fireworks festival? Do you know the history of Fireworks?
I’ll be waiting for your comments and in the meanwhile, if you want, go and visit class 2A MAT page about fireworks https://matenglishblog.wordpress.com/2a-mat/fireworks-chemistry-in-action/

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the automobile — that most American of possessions — is being remade. Self-driving cars from Google’s new Waymo subsidiary will hit the streets next year. Tesla’s fully automated cars will arrive in 2018. Uber is testing its own self-driving fleet in Pittsburgh. More than a dozen other companies have AI-powered vehicles…

My dear students,
Many of you are asking me what I think about what happened in the USA two days ago. I am answering here with a link to Mr. Obama’s speech.
If I could choose I would like to have him as a father. He remembers me of Atticus, in To Kill a Mockingbird.
Listen to him. And be optimistic, no matter what.

Obama’s Speech after Trumps Elections
today at school we saw this video. After a Before watching activity LINK HERE I gave a While Watching activity (a chart to be filled in) to my students. It was particularly interesting, mainly the “strange” English accent, which we found out comes from New Zealand. However, the content was extremely stimulating, because it talks about the paths that lead to become an automotive technician in New Zealand, and the fact that this is a really required job all over the world.
And now an After Watching activity!
