Limitless. Fearless.

Who doesn’t know who Steve Jobs was? I believe all around the world Steve Jobs’ life can be considered as a source of inspiration that can make us achieve our own success. Personally, I think that his uniquely creative and acute mind, his will power to pursue a dream to its very conclusion were the secrets of his success and prosperity. So, much may be learnt and much energy may be drawn from his example.

Recently I had the chance to see the now world famous speech he gave in 2005 at Standford University. “Stay hungry, stay foolish” was his motto. It might, however, come as a surprise to many that for much of his formative years he felt himself without a clear goal and direction. Maybe he couldn’t even understand the meaning of his own motto. He once admitted it on the speech, stating that he even considered academia as a poor way of spending his parents’ hard-earned money. This is why he saw fit to attend only the classes which lead more immediately to a job and an income without any further interests. However, these classes made him learn things that “turned out to be priceless later on” (from his own words). This means that even if at the beginning of his career he did not do the job he wanted to, this had not stopped him. Nothing had been so powerful to stop him. When Apple became an important society with four thousand employees, Steve Jobs got fired from his own company. Even after this bad experience, nothing stopped him and he had success again.

All in all, isn’t it there a lesson to be learnt? Do we sufficiently believe in ourselves? What can really stop us? Is it only because we are apparently unlucky or we just justify our failures with self pity  that we can’t be successful in our life? I personally believe that perhaps it is only a self-confidence matter. We are never really unlucky even if it is important to ask ourselves these essential questions. But I am convinced that one person should always be fearless and curious enough and positively “insane” to live new experiences. These will lead for sure to an inner enrichment.

All things considered, nobody can tell us which are our limits. Stay hungry, stay foolish! I will keep it in mind after High School.

  1. In my opinion we have to learn a lot from this Steve Jobs’ speech, because a lot of times as soon as in our path an obstacle appears, we surrender without try to pass through it. I think that in our lives there are many difficulties, just to make us grow, and to teach us a lesson. Maybe we don’t know why certain things happen, but in the future if we think about that we understand it, as Steve jobs said, only in the future we can connect all dots.

  2. I think that Steve Jobs has taught us a very important lesson that is: if you have a dream, never stop following it, because if you can accomplish it, wonderful things can happen to you. Another important thing he said was to believe in yourself. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter what other people think about us (our dream, our ideas) or criticize our expectations. Steve Jobs show us that we must never give up because he can be an example: he was fired by his own employee but then could reach success despite this terrible experience.
All in all, I think that following Jobs’ philosophy is the best way to make choices in your life. This is why I want to live as Jobs did.

I THINK Steve Jobs is an example of A person that has fought for his ideas. He never gave up discouraged, continuing to believe in his dreams and most of all, he built his own future, starting from nothing and arriving to be one of the most influential and rich man of the world. Even if he was a very important man, he made mistakes, for example, he didn’t recognize his first daughter, but this makes YOU understand that everybody can make mistakes, because it doesn’t matter if you are popular: you remain a human.
All in all, in his SPEECH he said the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do, so I THINK anyone that is determined, persevering and also a bit of a dreamer can realise his dreams and achieve his purposes.

  4. From my point of view I think that Steve Jobs has been an inspiration to everybody, he taught that we all have to follow our own dreams without worrying that anything could stop us, as demonstrated when he was fired from his own company. Anyone would have be surrendered and depressed, but instead he continued to be successful and has returned to Apple. With his phrase “stay foolish , stay hungry”, he wants to teach us not to limit ourselves message a goal, but to continue to persist. I think that anyway to have success like him you have to risk. If you win you will have success, but if you lose you will lose everything , not everyone is willing to take this risk.

  5. In our view Steve Jobs had a great success because his philosophy was the best a person can have.
We believe that like Jobs said, the thought of the death can change all our life because we will all be faced with the doom’s day sooner or later. So better live as if it were the last day on earth.
We think the best part of the speech is when he says the phrase “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish” because, following this suggestion, it is really important in order to grow and become an interesting person.
On the one hand we find this speech quite interesting, but on the the other hand we consider this speech a little bit banal. This is why, to be honest, we didn’t wholly like it because we find that some other people said it better what he wanted to.

  6. my point of view is that Steve Jobs changed his life simply because he found himself faced with a choice as he could not change his life. These decisions occur continually in front of each of us, and that’s where our lives would change for the better or the worse. The statement that each of us reach what they want could be useful or not, it depends only on us. Steve attended a calligraphy course that he thought it was useless, but thanks to that course he managed to revolutionize the world.
Personally I believe that no one can stop us and the way we want to live, if we have a goal.
The best part of the speech is that he talks of the useless waste of money that he caused to his adoptive parents. All of us can be an expense for our parents who, to let us study, would work days and nights. Another part I liked is the one in which he speaks of his natural family, which still students decide to give it up for adoption to ensure him a better fate. Moreover Steve had to work hard to get the results that we can admire today, the creations from Pixar to Apple we all know today.

  7. In my view Steve Jobs has changed the life of all pepole around the world. I believe he is an inspirational person for the people. Personally, I think this article is so interesting because we can understand this life is done by good moments and bad moments as happened in Steve Jobs’ life. I believe the best part of the speech is when Jobs tells he was fired from his company and even after this bad experience, nothing stopped him and he had success again and returned to his company. I liked this part of the article because he teaches us that you should never give up but you have to look forward.
I liked this speech and Matteo’s article. It is interesting to know how Jobs teaches us students to follow our dreams and his motto “Stay hungry, stay foolish” is the best way to live.

  8. In my opinion living as Steve Jobs did is hard nowadays, because it is hard to make big choices in life.
His philosphy made his success and we should do as he did, because this is the only way to make our best in our life. However, this doesn’t mean that if you don’t act as he did you are a loser.
Personally I’m not the kind of person who would naturally act like this but I’ll do it soon for a big choice in my life.
I believe that the best part of the speech is when Steve Jobs said “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” because it seems to me that it is a simple, but important message even if people don’t care about it. However, I think it is not compulsory to act like this, everybody should act like he or she wants to.
On the one hand I find this speech idealistic but on the other hand I think that every person could do it, even if he has to make little choices because if you learn how to do little choices than you know also how to make the bigger ones.
All in all I, think that we have to listen to this speech because it is very interesting and it could change our life if we understand what really Jobs wanted to tell us.

  9. In my eyes many things can stop us wether it’s our parents saying we are not good enough, or our friends being a bad influence on us. What we need is to realize that we should accomplish things for ourselves as not everyone is going to be there for us.
